175th Anniversary

Airdrie Baptist in sunshine

This is a big anniversary year in the life of Airdrie Baptist Church. Originally founded in 1843, we turn 175 years old at the end of November 2018.

To mark this milestone we have a number of events lined up between 22-25 November.

Exhibition & Display of Memorabilia

The church building will host an exhibition in the days leading up to the anniversary and will be open on:

  • Thursday 22 & Friday 23, 11am – 6pm
  • Saturday 24, 11am – 4pm

Thanksgiving celebration

This evening event on Saturday 24 November will start at 7pm. Former Airdrie Baptist Pastor, Rev Tom Glover, will be our guest speaker and Dave Brackenridge will be our musical guest.

Sunday services

Morning service

At the morning service at 11am our guest speaker will be another former Pastor, Rev Brian More. Rev Gordon Thomson, who the church has supported for a number of years, will also share memories of Airdrie Baptist and we will have guest singers Peter and Helen Stobart with us.

Evening service

Our evening Family Thanksgiving service will start at 5pm with a dinner for the fellowship. While the meal is free, there is an opportunity to donate towards the cost. The service itself will feature contributions from members and friends, with current Pastor Rev Ross Murphy delivering the epilogue.

Contribute

All are welcome to this week of celebration.

If you’re able to help out in any way please add your name to the list in the vestibule.

If you’re able to contribute memorabilia connected to the church to form part of the displays, please bring this with you on Sunday 18 November. Please label anything clearly so it can be returned after the event.

We look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks!
