Upcoming ladies events

There are a couple of upcoming events for the women in our fellowship.

Ladies Prayer Group

The first meeting of the new session will be on Wednesday 23 August at 10.30am. Please come along and join this group of faithful praying women.

Women’s Breakfast

Saturday 9 September 2023, 10 – 11.30am

We are hosting a women’s breakfast where our guest speaker will be Brenda Leavenworth, an author and speaker from California, USA. Her passion is helping women grow in their knowledge and understanding of Scripture as they pursue Christian maturity.

Communion service on Sunday 6 June

Our time of worship this Sunday morning will be a communion service. Group B will be present in the Church building, with Group A watching online.

Bread and wine will be provided in a COVID-safe way for those in attendance. Please have something prepared if you’re joining us from home so you can also participate.

Our service starts at 11am as usual and will be streamed on our YouTube channel.

Canopy

This year the Baptist Union of Scotland are hosting a weekend-long online event, rather than their usual annual gathering.

The event will run from 23 – 25 October 2020, with a prayer gathering on Friday night, a series of seminars and sessions on Saturday and a morning celebration on Sunday morning. There will also be youth sessions each day for younger people.

The event is free to attend and will be streamed on YouTube over the weekend.

IREF Together

IREF are hosting a special online event on Saturday 22 August 2020 at 4pm BST.

The event is celebrating 40 years of the IREF ministry in India and will feature an update on their work during the COVID-19 pandemic, a history of IREF UK and a testimony and song from the staff and students.

Church business update and Alpha Online

We will be sharing a quick Church business update at the end of our online prayer meeting on Wednesday. It will start at 8pm and will last for about 30 minutes.

Alpha Online

If you were watching the service from Newton Mearns Baptist Church on 24 May, you’ll have heard them mention the start of a new Alpha Online course.

The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the claims of Christianity through open and interactive discussion.

The course being run online by NMBC starts on Sunday 31 May 2020 and will run from 8 – 9.15pm.

Christmas services

Christmas is fast approaching and we have a series of special services coming up at Airdrie Baptist.

Nativity

Our young people will be taking part in our annual Nativity service on Sunday 22 December at 11am. They will be getting ready for this over the next couple of weeks during Kids @ ABC. Do come along and support them as they share the story of Jesus’s birth with us.

Carols by Candlelight

We are holding a special carol service on Sunday 22 December at 6.30pm. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be served in the hall afterwards. Promotional leaflets are available from the Church for you to give to your friends and neighbours. All are welcome!

Watchnight service

We will once again be holding a watchnight service on Christmas Eve. The service will start at 11.15pm and will be led by Gilmour Callander.

Anniversary weekend

We are looking forward to an enjoyable anniversary weekend from 23 – 24 November and would love it if you could join us.

Quiz

On Saturday night our young people are hosting a quiz to raise money for the bi-annual trip to IREF. Fancy pitting your wits against other local brain boxes? Come along and join a team on Saturday at 7.30pm. Entry is £2 per person.

We’re delighted to have Terry Boyle of Insight for Living Ministries with us as our guest speaker on Sunday. Terry serves as UK Pastor for the ministry and hosts a weekly radio show as part of his ministry.

Church family tea

A meal will be served in the Church Hall at 5.15pm on Sunday ahead of our evening worship. Come and enjoy an informal time of fellowship as we celebrate our 176th birthday.

Acoustic Cafe and Barbecue

Sunday 16 June 2019, 5.30pm

We are hosting an Acoustic Cafe and Barbecue in June. This is a family-friendly event and all are invited!

It’ll be a time of food, fellowship and worship, kicking off at 5.30pm and followed at 6.30pm in the back hall.

If you’re coming along, please add your name to the sign up sheet in the vestibule. This will allow us to purchase enough food.

Good Friday joint evening service

Friday 19 April 2019, 7pm

This Easter we are holding a joint service with Airdrie Ebenezer Evangelical Church, Airdrie High Kirk, Caldercruix Church of Scotland and Plains Evangelical Church.

The speaker on the night will be Mark Nelson (Pastor at Plains Evangelical) while Ian McDonald (Airdrie High Kirk & Caldercruix C of S) and Ross Murphy (Airdrie Baptist) will also be taking part.

Evenings at Airdrie Baptist

We are changing the format of our evening services from October 2018. These will include a mixture of special gospel / testimony, youth and communion focus services, as well as the now established Acoustic cafe.

We will also be hosting four family teas – a chance for the Church family to come together and enjoy fellowship over a buffet meal. These will be held at 5.30pm to make them more accessible for those with young children. Continue reading “Evenings at Airdrie Baptist”

Welcome to the Circus: Holiday Club 2018

2 – 6 July 2018

This year’s Holiday Club will take place in the church building from Monday 2 – Friday 6 July, running from 10am – 12 noon each day.

There will be crafts, games, snacks, stories and songs.

The club is completely free and is open to all children Primary 1 – Primary 7.

Meet The Real Jesus: An evening with John Blanchard
