The family and I want to say our heartfelt thanks to the fellowship, leaders and adherents of Airdrie Baptist Church, (many of whom have shared in Ann’s journey over the years) for your kind words, thoughts, deeds and most of all prayers, as we come to terms with her loss. In these trying times we really appreciated this as we missed the fellowship in saying goodbye together from the church she so loved and served over the years.
Ann was a very dear and beloved wife to me, a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Indeed Ann had many more titles we could bestow upon her having lived a very full, yet humble life. Her devotion, loyalty and faithfulness to her God and Saviour and to her Church were just three of her many qualities and in all the years we have known and loved her she has shared these qualities with reverence and humility.
Ann never boasted about anything and would if she were privy to our tribute to her, blush and without doubt tell us off for not focussing on her Lord. Yet, we recognise that we can boast about her because Christ Jesus was the giver and nurturer of all these qualities.
I want to leave you with Paul’s words to the Corinthians,
“ I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way – in all your speaking and in all your knowledge – because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.”1 Corinthians v 4-6
Peace be with each and every one of you.
