Plans are quickly coming together for an emergency night shelter for the winter months. This will be opening at the old Glasgow City Mission building on McAlpine Street from 4 December 2011.
They are recruiting the following staff and volunteers to man this exciting and essential service.
Staff
3 x full-time staff for three months:
- 38.5 hours/week (average)
- £9.50/hour
- shifts 11 hours each, 9.30pm – 8.30am
2 x part-time staff for three months:
- 14 hours/week (average)
- £9.50/hour
- shifts 4 hours each (9.45pm – 1.45am
Volunteers
They are looking for people who:
- can commit to a regular night shift each week for the three months
- can commit to at least three night shifts
- can organise a team from their church to provide all the volunteers needed for a week of night shifts (2 volunteers per night)

They are also urgently seeking volunteers to help at their Child and Family Centre in Govan at least a day a week, 9.30am – 1pm, Monday – Friday.
A variety of roles are available, including classroom assistants, help with administration and cleaning.
