National Prayer Livestream

Over 700 people joined together for last Sunday’s Baptist Union of Scotland Prayer Livestream, gathering from all corners of Scotland in the midst of the present crisis.

This gathering will now take place every Sunday at 7pm. To join in, visit the Baptist Union of Scotland Facebook page.

This Sunday will include live contributions from the Isle of Tiree and the Borders and we will be joined by Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director for the Scottish Government and a member of Airdrie Baptist Church.

Do please join in and encourage others from your fellowship to take part. In these anxious days it is vital that we press into prayer in unity and faith.

Ross MurphyOur pastor Ross Murphy will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday 31 March 2015 in the latest stage of his treatment for a brain tumour.

To coincide with this, the Church will be open that day for a special time of prayer.  There will be three periods of prayer to try and accommodate as many people as we can.

The Church will be open:

  • 10am – 12noon
  • 2 – 4pm
  • 7 – 9pm

All are welcome and encouraged to pray throughout the day and beyond.

We are also hosting a special praise and prayer night this Sunday at 6.30pm in the Church hall to which all are warmly welcomed.

Update from Ross

“They go from strength to strength.”- Psalm 84:7

“The promise… still holds good: “The youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” Fretful spirits sit down and trouble themselves about the future. “Alas!” say they, “we go from affliction to affliction.” Very true, O thou of little faith, but then thou goest from strength to strength also. Thou shalt never find a bundle of affliction which has not bound up in the midst of it sufficient grace. God will give the strength of ripe manhood with the burden allotted to full-grown shoulders.”

This week Erik Raymond of Ligonier Ministries, answers that question in 5 simple points. Why not take one for each day this week, Monday to Friday? Continue reading “How to pray for your Church”

Sunday evening changes

Sunday evening changes

Please remember to pray for the new evening services which will begin in October – just a fortnight’s time.

Next week I’ll write a much fuller article to accompany the newsletter reminding us what these changes are, why we’re making them and how we’re going to proceed in more detail, but let’s start praying in earnest now. Continue reading “Sunday evening changes”

Another night, another meeting

Another night, another meeting

Open meetings will be happening each night during the IREF 2012 trip. Once again, many thousands of people came to hear the Word of God preached.

There was a call at the end of the meeting, to which many responded.

Please pray for those who went forward to commit their lives to Christ, and for those who remained where they were but heard the Gospel.
