What Does This Mean for Me?

Communion WineWhat this means is that those who are trusting in Jesus, need not be separated from God, from his joy and peace, from the wonder of his presence and from his victory over death.

On the cross he died not to pay the price for his wrongdoing, but for ours. The Bible says:

"he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."

Now we don’t need to face the punishment for our sinful lives. Jesus faced that punishment on the cross in our place. The bible says "he who knew no sin (Jesus) became sin for us". Jesus became dirty in God’s eyes, that’s the real horror of the cross. Jesus was willing to take our guilt, our shame, our sin on his own shoulders. He suffered and died for us.

Now you no longer need to live a godless empty life, you no longer need to face the reality of hell when you die.

Christians are people who have made Jesus the King of their lives, people who trust in him and say yes to his free gift of forgiveness, life and friendship with God. It’s great to know the purpose, meaning, hope, peace and joy that come from trusting in Jesus and living for him.

What now?
